Jazan, known as "The Pearl of the South", is a marine and mountainous area that has various topographies and is home to the largest island chain located in the Red Sea. It has always been a vital city, whether for trade, farming, or purely strategic reasons. Jazan’s port was one of the most important ports historically for exporting Khawlani coffee beans. Other well-known crops in the region are sesame seeds and a variety of fruits such as mango and papaya.
