White truffles, called faqaa or kamaa, are highly prized and harvested in the Arabian Peninsula during the rainy seasons between January and April. Truffle hunters can locate them by looking for cracks in the soil, specific desert plants, or grasses. Dogs are also used by some hunters to recognize their scent.
